The FIM and Dorna have announced the provisional WorldSBK calendar for the 2025 season. The calendar has a familiar look, with 12 races, kicking off at the end of February at Phillip Island.
The Australian round is the only race outside of Europe once more. Though there are persistent rumors that Dorna is working on other races outside of Europe, they have been unable to sign contracts for them just yet. The WorldSBK series will visit the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary for the first time this year, though they were scheduled to go in 2024 and that round was canceled.
There are six clashes with MotoGP in 2024, though only two clashes happen in the same time zone. The Portimão round of WorldSBK is on March 30th, the same weekend as the Grand Prix of The Americas in Austin. The popular Dutch round of WorldSBK is on April 13th, the same weekend as MotoGP at Qatar. The British WorldSBK round at Donington Park is on the same weekend as the Sachsenring GP, on July 13th.
The French round of WorldSBK at Magny-Cours is on the same weekend as the Barcelona round of MotoGP on September 7th. The Aragon WorldSBK round is on September 28th, the same weekend as the Japanese MotoGP round at Motegi. And the last round of the 2025 WorldSBK championship, at Jerez, is set for October 19th, the same weekend that MotoGP visits Phillip Island.
The Hungarian round of WorldSBK is still subject to the Balaton Park Circuit receiving an FIM homologation, and is therefore in the same boat as MotoGP in that respect. And the final round at Jerez is still subject to contract.

Liberty
I realize that the Liberty Media/Dorna transaction is still being completed, but I was hoping that Liberty might start working on a true World schedule for next year. Obviously the series should currently be called EuroSBK, with our friends in Victoria getting a bonus race.
I will now repeat what is becoming an annual tradition for me by noting that my nearest "World"SBK race is a mere 5400 mile ride away.

Road trip!
About the same for me, I'm in Canada ...
I miss my annual pilgrimage…
I miss my annual pilgrimage to Laguna Seca.

Lovely track
But not enough run-off, too tight, not sufficient paddock space for today's top-level racing bikes. Pity, really. Loved going there, and riding it the one time I had the chance. Last time I visited was for the two-stroke 500s, crazy. Stayed in Salinas, really got to like Mexican food!
EuroSBK
They can't give up Philip Island because it's so good. Racing is usually awesome as well.
Otherwise at least they are visiting new circuits in Europe.
To me World Championship implies more than just Europe plus one.
Turkey isn't far from Europe. But they won't go there.
Africa, Asia and the Americas all deserve a round.
North America where a lot of the world's money lives. The USA is a big motorsport market. With many racing circuits. l think it's up to America to invest in upgrading one track to FIM top level.
Build (upgrade) it and they will (probably) come.
I remember when WorldSBK raced at Kyalami, Laguna, Miller MS Park, Sugo, Buriram, Sepang and even South America.
Maybe 2026. Fingers crossed.
American race
I too miss a North American round. We get a taste with WSBK riders in the MotoAmerica series. Maybe if the USA round was on a 2 mile oval <funny>
12 races. 2 continents. …
