Another title could be decided today, with World Supersport up for seventeen laps of 24ºC weather in Spain. Adrian Huertas is favourite to take the title over Stefano Manzi, needing just five points to secure the championship. Federico Caricasulo was sent to the back of the grid for a tyre pressure infringement.
With weather threatening the beginning of the World Supersport Superpole, riders set out to set a quick time before the weather turned, but it stayed decent enough for the last five minutes to be an exciting prospect.
Can Oncu set the fastest time of the morning a fortieth of a second quicker than Federico Caricasulo to open the last championship weekend of the year. Yari Montella is out of the running for the title while Stefano Manzi is forty five points off Adrian Huertas with fifty points available across this weekend's two races. Manzi was third quickest while Huertas and Montella were thirteenth and twelfth respectively.
In a wet session of two halves, Raffaele De Rosa took the Chinese QJMotor SRK 800 RR to the top of the leaderboard in the tricky conditions. The more familiar names of Yari Montella and Valentin Debise rounded out the top thre.
The World Supersport championship was led by fifty five points with five races left including this one. Riders lined up under 25ºC weather with no wind.
