Joan Mir has made the biggest improvement in qualifying times compared to the race weekend in October last year, the Honda HRC Castrol rider cutting nearly two thirds of a second off qualifying lap in 2024.

The Marquez brothers both made a big step compared to the race weekend, Marc Marquez just over half a second faster than last year, Alex Marquez just under half a second. 

Marc Marquez ends the 2025 Buriram MotoGP test as fastest, the Ducati Lenovo man the only rider to get into the 1'28s, ending 0.155 slower than his teammate Pecco Bagnaia's outright lap record at the Chang International Circuit. 

At 3pm in Buriram, a large chunk of the grid was out running race simulations, at the same time as the actual race is set to be held in two weeks time. As such, the times currently being posted are not as fast as this morning, but they do more accurately reflect race pace. 

Times are tumbling on the last day of the Buriram preseason MotoGP test, as riders get close to their final setup and start to prepare the race here in just over two weeks' time. Marc Marquez is currently fastest, the Ducati Lenovo rider putting in a lap that puts him within two tenths of the outright lap record held by his teammate Pecco Bagnaia, and currently the only rider inside the 1'28s.

Marc Marquez has topped the timesheets on the first day of testing for the MotoGP class at Buriram. The Ducati Lenovo rider pulled out a very fast lap at the end of the day to pull out nearly half a second on the second fastest rider, his brother Alex. The Gresini Ducati rider had set his best time in the morning, but that was good enough to hold onto second overall on the day.

Franco Morbidelli made a big step on the Pertamina VR46 Ducati to take third spot, ahead of an impressive time from Marco Bezzecchi on the Aprilia. 

Marco Bezzecchi is currently fastest in the afternoon session of the first day at Buriram, the factory Aprilia rider's time only a few hundredths slower than the best time set by Alex Marquez this morning. Alex Marquez is still quick, the Gresini Ducati rider second ahead of Pedro Acosta once again, while Prima Pramac Yamaha's Jack Miller is fourth.

Alex Marquez continues to rule the testing roost in MotoGP, jumping to the head of the timesheets at the (brief) end of the morning test session at Buriram, taking over where he left off in Sepang. The Gresini Ducati rider was a quarter of a second faster than Pedro Acosta, the KTM rider closer to the front in Buriram than he had been in Sepang. Marc Marquez is currently third, despite a minor technical issue which caused him to cut one run short, while Luca Marini has put the Honda in fourth. Times are still a second off Pecco Bagnaia's pole record set in Q2 at the race last October.

Alex Marquez leaves the Sepang MotoGP test as fastest, the Gresini Ducati rider ending the final day with a best time of 1'56.493. The Spaniard just nipped ahead of Pecco Bagnaia early in the morning, the factory Ducati rider setting a time of 1'56.500. Both Marquez and Bagnaia were two tenths faster than Bagnaia's best time at the Sepang test last year, but just under two tenths slower than his record pole time at the 2024 race weekend. 

A brief rain shower shortly after 2pm kept everyone in the pits during the lunch break, with no real action on the track. Riders started back shortly after 3pm, and work is continuing. But there have been no changes since 2pm.

Results at 4pm: 

Activity has been relatively sparse on track since noon, as the heat of the day starts to increase. Teams and riders are preparing for the lunch break, while keeping one eye on the rain radar, as the skies grow a little darker. A rain shower would disrupt their plans, though the track would likely dry out.

The times are almost unchanged since noon. Alex Marquez still leads Pecco Bagnaia, while Fabio Quartararo is third quickest. There are four more hours of the first test of 2025 to go:
