KTM carbon chassis

Great to see it, and for it to come from KTM both a surprise and not at the same time.

Their allegiance to trellis had been seen for years as a fault but it forced them to learn what stiffness values were needed and in which directions.

Once this is learned then carbon is the logical step and the perfect application as it can be tailored more precisely and predictably than steel trellis or aluminium.

Even if just equally fast, that they no longer have to tighten bolts here then loosen them there, spin around in a circle, before taking it to final torque will be an improvement in the garage.

Something Ducati had to learn, and Gigi made happen, make the bike easier to work on.

That all said the practice time sheet here tells a story as well,

Binders best with Dani

Can see that Binders last run in practice of out best sectors together puts him up there with Dani, and equally can see the weak spot where Dani is loosing that time in the fast sweeping T3.  Nice to also see Marquez on the Honda top a sector in the tight T4, first time we can say that in years.
