Bumper Yamaha MotoGP Photo Crop, The Monster vs Pramac Edition

By David Emmett | Fri, 31/Jan/2025 - 17:29

Superficially, the 2025 bike looks similar to the 2024 bike. But there are subtle differences between the liveries, that somehow make this one look more aggressive

Once the boss, now a special advisor, Lin Jarvis leaves Yamaha with a stellar record of success

Patience is what Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins have to have in 2025. Yamaha are making progress, and the cavalry have arrived in the shape of Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira

"This needs to be faster"

Alex Rins winning the photoshopped wheelie competition

The nerdiest of the nerdy will know that this is a 2024 bike. The proof is there if you zoom in on the right part

Yamaha have played with various exhaust lengths, but in recent years have kept returning to the beautifully made Akrapovic shorty emerging behind the rider's foot

The swingarm is prime location for your technical partner stickers

The Yamaha M1 is still one of the best looking bikes on the grid

The full Yamaha rider line up. Pramac MotoGP riders Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira, Monster Energy Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, and Pramac Moto2 squad Izan Guevara and Tony Arbolino

Manufacturer number 4 in MotoGP for Jack Miller. This year is very much a prove it year

A lot of purple for the Prima Pramac Yamaha bikes. The Alpine logo is very prominent

Manufacturer number 3 for Miguel Oliveira. Like Miller, he has experience adapting

There's a lot of experience in this photo. Miller and Oliveira have been recruited to help make Yamaha competitive again

How can you tell this has been photoshopped? Jack's not doing a standup wheelie

The stegosaurus fins continue to proliferate

A useful look at both the Prima sponsor logo and the aero gutter designed for cornering downforce on the Yamaha fairing

Tail light and rear facing camera compartment on the rather attractive tail of the Yamaha. There's a fuel tank under those stickers

Though Yamaha keep testing carbon fiber swingarms, they keep returning to the aluminum one

The Pramac color scheme makes the aero on the Yamaha much more visible.

The nerdiest of the nerdy will know that this is a 2024 bike.

Likely manufactured in the third month of 2024, no?

Unrelated, the drive chain (sponsor D.I.D) looks a lot like the beautiful, expensive EK 3D chain.

Usually the D.I.D chains on the Yamaha have flat side plates. This is the first time I’ve noticed this look. I also can’t find the lightened chain on D.I.D. ‘s website.

Yes, but my point was that their sponsor is D.I.D, not EK.

I have had a couple of those EK 3D chains. Very pretty in black and gold. Long lasting too.

Yes slowgeek you see the contradiction.

Yamaha MotoGP team takes D.I.D.'s money but doesn't use their product.

Proudly displaying the logos they are paid to display. Using the other company's product is a vote of no confidence in the sponsors chain. Take their money and show disdain for actually using the sponsors product.

I assume that partnership is not going to survive.
