The dreaded lurgy which struck me down on Sunday in Barcelona continues to take its toll. My doctor has told me that, even though I am physically fine otherwise, I need to take some rest to recover properly. My illness and the recovery process is why the site has been relatively quiet.
And so over the next week or so, as I focus on getting back to the nearest thing resembling full fitness that someone of my age can hope for, the site will be relatively quiet. I have articles in the process of preparation, and will try to roll those out. But I hope to be back fighting fit in a week or so.
Apologies for the lack of content, but it's been a long year.

Don't worry about it.
I've gotten a bit muddled up since Carmelo made the season 14 months long and last season now finishes in the second month of the current season.
In any case, I think the last race of 2024 is supposed to happen in the next few days. After that we should be fine until the first race in April or May, or whenever they've scheduled it.
Take care!
Take your time
Relax and get well.
No rush...
... your health must come first so don't feel you have to do anything to keep us happy. We'll be here when you are well again.
Take care,
Brendan.
Had to Google "lurgy" ;) ...
...But glad it's not too serious. Get well soon...
Look after yourself
Maybe this is Carmelo’s plan to weed out us old grumpy hard core fans?
So many races it breaks us? Ushering the new younger no attention span fans

Sports Bulimia. Reduce the off season to Thanksgiving/Black Friday weekend and the week of Christmas to New Years.
Yes
take care, rest up, recuperate and heal. It's been a hectic year and you've done your part in keeping us all informed!
Thank you!!
Speaking of the MotoMatters podcast, it was very evident that you guys are all best of mates, judging by the banter amongst you. It was nice to hear.

David- we went to Tokyo to visit our son and his family. I came back to the U.S. with bacterial pneumonia but after strong antibiotics and 3 weeks of rest I am finally getting back to normal. So rest, take some time off and get back to 100%. No excuses needed here- you probably run ragged all season long. Feel better!!

Get well soon David.*
Made popular by The Goons but It has been suggested lurgy is an acronym. I heard it was medical shorthand for lower & upper respiratory general infection.
*It's the off season take your time.
Modern viruses are pure evil
I normally shrug off respiratory illnesses but was utterly kiboshed by one earlier this year. Wish I'd slowed down enough to enable me to get over it quickly - make sure you really do!

Rest well David! The worst thing you can do is rush back. It never works
Add a few weeks
…to all the time you need. Rest well, then rest a bit more. We older (experienced?) fellows need to respect the healing process fully even though it might not feel like it’s in our dna to do so.
The muttereres are going nowhere. We will happily stand by.
Adore your writing and appreciate all your hard work. Now get better! But take your time doing so ;)
